The Grand Lodge of Ohio had the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and visit the ongoing construction of Ohio Village, gaining an exciting glimpse into the future of one of the Ohio History Connection’s most treasured destinations. As restoration and improvements continue, plans are already taking shape for a Masonic Dedication once the village officially reopens to the public in 2027.
During that celebration, the Grand Lodge hopes to dedicate a new memorial tree and formally rededicate the site, honoring the legacy of the original Memorial Tree dedicating in 1978 by MWB Jerry C. Rasor. The surviving bronze plaque from that original dedication has been preserved and will be placed alongside a newly crafted plaque.
To add even greater significance to the ceremony, soil collected from each of Ohio’s 25 Masonic Districts will be combined to help plant the new tree, symbolizing unity and shared commitment of Freemasons across the state.
Be sure to watch for future updates as plans continue to develop for this historic and
memorable occasion!
