Longest Serving Treasurer in the Grand Lodge of Ohio – 41 years!

WB Richard Wendt
College Hill – Harry S. Johnson Lodge #641

I am proud to be a Freemason. My father was a Past Master of his Lodge in Wisconsin, and my father-in-law was a Commander in the York Rite. I was also inspired to petition a Lodge because of several friends that I respected who were Masons.

I enjoy the comradery of the many great men who are, and were, members of my Lodge. We have always had a dedicated group who serve our Lodge and continue to improve our ritual work and facilities. Learning the ritual when I was a line officer gave me a lot of self-confidence that served me well in my career as a Senior Scientist at Procter & Gamble for 35 years.

I have accepted election as treasurer for over 40 years because I like to be busy and felt I could contribute a thrifty voice when financial matters were involved. I believe the Lodge Treasurer should be very transparent in all handling of money, so a printed report is given to everyone at our stated meetings. Our members know their money is well spent.
