First Responders Appreciation Breakfast

In an effort to reach out and connect with our community and to show our appreciation to those who serve us on a daily basis, Ohio Masonic Home and Springfield Masonic Community hosted a First Responders Appreciation Breakfast on campus September 27, 2017. Invitations were sent to all Clark County Police, Fire, Sheriff, E.M.T. and 13 volunteer departments across the county to attend. All were invited for a pancake and sausage breakfast prepared and served by SMC residents, and each department was then presented with teddy bears stating “The Ohio Masonic Home Cares.”

These bears can be carried in their cruisers, squads, fire trucks or any rescue vehicle and be used as a way to calm and distract children who may be involved in a tragic situation. It is also a way to show the community that we care and support them, and want to give back to the community we have been a part of for 125 years.

The event was well attended and much appreciated by the Sheriff, Chief of Police, Fire Captain and over 50 members of the various departments. Carry outs were even made available for those who could not stay.
