Brother Frank Grasberger (photos left)
Brother Grasberger was 19 years old when he was drafted into the Army to serve our country during World War II. He would spend three years of his life in some of the worst battles of the war. The roughest of which was the Battle of the Bulge which lasted six brutal weeks. On top of fierce fighting, the weather conditions made the campaign treacherous. Soldiers were faced with freezing rain, thick fog, deep snowdrifts, and record-breaking low temperatures. Grasberger, who was on the front lines tasked with listening to German movements for weakness, spent three straight days in a foxhole filled with water. Despite having little feeling in his feet, and nerve damage from exploding shells, he still believes we live in βthe greatest country on earth!β Brother Grasberger has been a proud Mason and member of Cleveland Lodge #781 for over 59 years!
