Brethren, Ladies and Families,
I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying great weather with loved ones and friends. Summer is one of my favorite times of year and is always extra special at The Ohio Masonic Communities.
With summer comes the close of another season of Grand Master Receptions around the state. Our employees love to participate in these events as it is a time to break bread with old friends, make new ones, and hear the message from our Grand Master. I would like to give a special thanks to Most Worshipful Brother William M. Carter, III and Lady Zoe. They are incredible ambassadors for both the Fraternity and one of the first charities of Ohio Freemasonry, our Ohio Masonic Communities. We are blessed that they chose our mission as their cause and thank them for being amazing advocates for our organization and all those we serve.
As always, there are many exciting changes at The Ohio Masonic Communities, big and small. At Springfield Masonic Community, our repositioning is well underway. We are already known in the community for the excellent care we provide, but this project will allow us to provide even higher quality care to even more residents, giving us the best-in-class facilities for our best-in-class care. We are also excited to welcome Jay Dettorre back as Executive Director of The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation. Many of you may know Jay as he spent 19 years with The Ohio Masonic Communities previously and we look forward to his vision as we position ourselves for the next 130 years of our organization’s legacy.
Every summer I look forward to Dream Flights. Not because of something I get out of the experience, but because of what it means to our residents. Once they climb up into the open cockpit plane, something changes for them. They realize they can do something they did not think was possible anymore, and suddenly they start dreaming about what else might be possible. At The Ohio Masonic Communities, we strive to see the world through the eyes of those we serve, and we too, are always looking to push the limits on possibilities.
That is our mission in action and why we do the work we do. We are in the business of making people’s dreams happen. It is an honor and privilege to serve the fraternity, our residents, and our staff as we help our communities thrive.
Fraternally,
Brother Scott Buchanan
CEO, The Ohio Masonic Communities
