The 2025 Clark State Diversity Champion Award recognized leadership in diversity, honoring an individual or organization who has implemented innovative strategies that promote the development of skills to meet the needs of a multicultural society.
Springfield Masonic Community and Clark State College worked collaboratively to create an onsite training program for Certified Nursing Assistants (formerly State Tested Nursing Assistants) with an embedded ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) element. The program helps immigrants learn English while they are training to become a nursing assistant.
Brooke Herring, Chief Financial Officer of The Ohio Masonic Communities, shared, “We’re honored to receive the Diversity Champion Award. This recognition holds great meaning as we continue to cultivate an environment that values and celebrates diverse voices, backgrounds, and perspectives. Our partnership with Clark State College has opened new doors to support and educate nurses from all backgrounds, enriching our campus and the broader community. This award truly reflects the core of our mission, living our Masonic Values by serving as the trusted partner to help our communities thrive. When our local community flourishes, it strengthens our ability to help our incredible residents and dedicated staff thrive, as well.”
