Rummage Sale a Success

Western Reserve Masonic Community (WRMC) residents came together to host their Annual Rummage Sale April 11th and 12th. A team of residents spent months collecting donated items from residents, employees, and community members. More than 35 residents worked to price items before the sale, assist shoppers, and manage check out during the sale.

The Community Center was filled to capacity – and brimming into the hallway – with furniture, holiday decorations, small kitchen appliances, artwork, and more. There was something there for everyone, and unsold items were donated to charities in Medina.

After months of collecting items and pricing them, it was time to get ready for the sale. Items were grouped together by type, such as lamps, creating an organized variety of sections to please all shoppers. The evening before, everything was set and ready for the sale.

Shoppers were excited to see the doors open Friday morning and there was an immediate crowd. Once shoppers found their cherished purchases, residents were ready to accept their payments. Residents worked in shifts, giving a large number of residents the opportunity to participate in this exciting annual event.

Rummage Sale Chairperson, Bob Hriso, shared, “Now that the Rummage Sale is over, residents are excited to use the proceeds to support activities of other resident committees at WRMC. The proceeds from this year’s rummage sale were over $3,000. Proceeds from the 2024 sale helped with the purchases of roses and benches to beautify our campus garden areas.” Planning is already underway for next year’s Annual Rummage Sale.
