Mason “Dots the I” in Ohio Stadium

Brother Anthony Violi was honored to “dot the i” during the Ohio State University Marching Band’s performance of Script Ohio on September 22nd at Ohio Stadium. This is an honor that has been extended to fewer than twenty people over the last 83 years.

Brother Violi is 100 years old. He has been a Mason and member of Steubenville Lodge #45 for 69 years. He is also a member of the Valley of Steubenville, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, where he received the Meritorious Service Award and the Scottish Rite Medal for Masonic Service.

The TBDBITL Alumni Association selected Brother Violi for this extraordinary honor to recognize his long support of the band and this amazing milestone as a centenarian. Brother Violi played in the Ohio State band from 1937 until graduation in 1942. He immediately entered the Army and served overseas. Later, he taught music for many years and directed the marching band at the Steubenville High School. He still plays in the community band today.
