What’s next for the Ohio Masonic Home?

Most people are starting to see “light at the end of the tunnel” as we are seeing larger numbers of people who have been vaccinated. A high percentage of community members across all three campuses are fully vaccinated and ready to get life back to our new normal. Pfizer vaccines were administered in January and early February.

All of the campuses have been very careful to comply with COVID-19 protocols for the health and safety of the staff, their families and most importantly the community members.

As we look around all of our communities, everyone is still wearing masks and social distancing. Everyone is being very respectful of their fellow community members. Even with these restrictions still in place, people are coming out of their villas and apartments and some social activities are beginning to happen. These are still campus only events, but people are laughing and talking and enjoying themselves and being able to see their neighbors in person, instead of talking on the phone or on Zoom.

Each campus has held different activities from a game night to a cookout and even a dinner at a local restaurant. Green seemed to be the color of the day as the game night coincided with St. Patrick’s Day and steaks were grilled out on another campus. Spirits were high and the excitement shown on everyone’s face. Planning is underway for events such as a Kentucky Derby Day party to a Spring Fling while listening to the sounds of jazz. If you are wondering what else will be planned, stay tuned. After dealing with a year of COVID-19, you can be assured that the best is yet to come!
