You may remember Resource Center client, Tommy Junkins, member of Weyer Lodge #541, who became a volunteer with the 23rd District MVP Committee. Sadly, Tommy has recently passed away but had made the request that his electric scooter and carrier be donated to a Resource Center client in need. With the help of two volunteers, Earl George and Bob Hadfield, from the 17th District MVP Committee, the scooter was picked up and delivered to Robert McDonald, of Belpre Lodge. With coordination from Resource Center Liaison, DeAnna Kinney and Tommy’s family, volunteers drove 2 hours each way to get the scooter, clean it up and make the delivery. Robert and his wife, Louise, were very happy to receive the scooter and plan to make use of it once the weather breaks and the quarantine is lifted. The Resource Center staff appreciate the donations by Tommy and the Junkins family, and the efforts of both volunteers.
We would also like to acknowledge the tremendous support and service of three additional MVP Committee volunteers who recently passed away: Tom McCort, Kirkwood #446, Wayne Fulmer, Steubenville #45, and Peggy Headley (OES) who will be greatly missed by all who knew them.
